Your name is NEPETA LEIJON, and you are carrying a STACK OF FLARP RULEBOOKS so tall that you have to look around it in order to find your way to the game. Your moirail generally doesn't let you play these kinds of games because they tend to get people killed, but you can take care of yourself! And Vriska helped him see that, because when it comes to convincing scowly moirails to let you do fun things, she is apparently the best there is. You should have thought of this before that party all your friends through last month!

In this adventure, the magical girl is going to fight against the archaeophyte, who is most definitely not the EMPRESS, HER IMPERIOUS CONDESCENSION, because that would be heresy and you would be culled, but is a HISTORICAL MINOR BUREAUCRAT with delusions of grandeur. Besides, everyone knows magical girls work for the Condesce, the greatest and most terrifying magical girl of them all!

You lay out a serious of minions for Terezi, since Vriska will be angry if there isn't a part of the game that's too easy for her and lets her complain. After that you set up traps, since Terezi won't like it if Vriska can just get to her palace without taking damage, and the traps will lead Vriska inside the cavern Terezi has set up as a throne room in the hope that having a fight in there won't get anyone killed.

You even had the cavern reinforced so that Vriska couldn't cave you all inside and cause the three of you to die! Flarping is awesome.

Vriska flicks the CAT OF EIGHT TAILS, and the barbs start to glow bright blue. She lifts off the ground a bit, swept up in whorls of cobalt energy, and her ratty black jeans vanish, replaced by knee-high red boots and remarkably tight black leggings. Her t-shirt tightens around her torso and stretches down her hips in frills, the bottom hem of her skirt patterned with her symbol. The ruffles on her collar and sleeve really complement her manic grin. By the time her feet touch the ground, she's glowing blue and ready to do battle, and you send in the first wave of echeladder fodder.

OBEY CEASE REPRODUCTION SUBMIT TO DRONES

The show's title is Puella Magi Sayaka Magica.

Kyouko knows her dad is losing it — the starvation is even starting to get to her head, and she and Momo are the ones he's been insisting eat most of the food they do come by — but she doesn't suspect for a moment when he calls the whole family into the chapel that he's planning to bar the door and burn the place to the ground. She wrestles the matchbox away from him and runs. The color drains out of the stained glass around her, and when she pauses to look back, her family is nowhere to be seen. Serpents as black as ink lunge at her from the shadows, mouths gaping and jagged with teeth.

That's when Miki Sayaka comes charging into her life, sword flashing, white cape billowing in the wind.

Her family survives, but she can never look at her father quite the same way again, even after Sayaka explains how the witch's kiss works. For so long she has believed that he was the last truly good man on Earth, and her faith in humanity is shaken to its very foundation. But Sayaka is there for her, with her brave smile and burning ideals, and watching her lay her life on the line for strangers again and again fills Kyouko with a hope more vital and substantial than anything her father's flowery sermons on the redemption to be found at the other side of death ever provided her.

Then Walpurgisnacht arrives, and that hope comes crashing down around her like shards of a stained glass chapel collapsing on her head: bright and beautiful and agonizingly sharp-edged.

"You could change this, you know," Kyubey tells her as she cradles Sayaka's body amid the wreckage. "Any part of it! You do have the qualifications."

Kyouko hesitates. She only gets one wish, and she's smart enough to know that she probably isn't smart enough to get it right on her first try.

"I want to go back and fix things myself," she says. "As many times as it takes to not just screw it all up even worse."

And with that, their fate is sealed.

Instead of dressing as a boy to ~join the revolution, Eponine disguises herself in order to woo Cosette.

The first time Eponine followed Marius to the Rue Plumet, it was for Marius alone.

The second time, it was for his mistress.

The girl who sat behind the iron gate was beautiful. She was impeccably attired. She was softly spoken. She was well fed. She had all her teeth.

Eponine looked watched her reflection in the shop windows on the way home. She twisted and turned. She held her hair up and let it fall down. She dropped off her father’s letters. She picked up a sou from the gutter.

She sat down to a hard crust of bread for dinner. She would never be the girl on the Rue Plumet

The next day, she followed Marius down the dark hallway of the Gorbeau house. She followed him through the streets, both huddled under thin fabric against the icy rain. She saw him stop outside the window of the bakery. She saw him feel in his empty pockets, and walk on.

At the Rue Plumet, Marius slipped between the gate bars, and walked into the garden. The rain stopped. He sat on the garden bench, in a shabby coat, with no money in his pockets. The girl smiled at him, and took his hand, and didn’t notice.

Eponine would never be the girl on the Rue Plumet. But a poor boy from the Boulevard de l’Hopital? That she could manage.

He woke to her lips that felt like coming home and as he opened his eyes, he smiled and said, "Snow."

It was her face but the Queen was there, he tried to sit up and get his sword but cords pulled him down.

Then people gathered around him, many faces he knew but didn't, this wasn't his realm. He should be bleeding to death outside the nursery not here. Snow was backing away from him into the arms of a blonde woman who held her tight and he heard a boy saying with amazement, "It worked."

A doctor, who he felt certain he knew pushed everyone away until it was just the two of them. He knew he should focus on the doctor, find out where he was, why he wasn't dead but all he could see was Snow running away from him, not knowing him.

Slowly he leaned back down, he felt weak, that at least made sense. The doctor watched him and started to ask questions, which he did his best to answer but his replies weren't reassuring the doctor who kept sighing. There was a role he was meant to play here and he wasn't fulfilling it, that felt familiar.

Finally the man left, closing the curtains on the room and leaving James with his thoughts and fears. This must be another realm but Snow was here and the Queen, it didn't fit and he didn't know how to begin. He had been wounded before, this was simply another sort of hurt and she found him. She would find him again and they would right this realm.

These things always start small. Someone dressed as Batman to keep the muggers off his back; it worked. He took fighting lessons, starting facing off against criminals; nothing bad happened. Batweapons appeared, as if by magic, and he learned to use them.

Word spread.

Others tried the same thing.

It felt reassuring, at first - lots of Batmen around meant that the criminals fled, seeking easier pastures. People started wearing the masks all the time, because why be themselves, why be ordinary, when they could be part of something so special that it stopped crime without actually doing anything? And you couldn't wear the masks without wearing the rest of the costume - that would just be wrong.

The outfits became common at the shops, in the streets. Walking on the beach would show you Batmen playing volleyball, Batmen eating ice-cream, Batmen wading in the sea...

It wasn't that there was a rule against taking off the disguise, it was just - what was the point? Why show people that you were really Joe Bloggs, No One Special, instead of Batman, World's Greatest Detective?

And if sometimes, some people wished that they could just have the courage to take off the masks and reveal their true faces... It was a shame that there was no one who could teach them that courage.

The courage to face the world as an ordinary (real) man, instead of a (disguise) legend.

Battle Royale or Hunger Games AU.

Maysilee and Haymitch are the joint victors of the 50th Hunger Games.

Katniss and Peeta as the teenage stars of Disney(/Nick) show, with Gale as the boy back home.

Canon AU: That time Red didn't eat her boyfriend.

She was hungry and wanting until a scent, something more hit her, she whined and smelled fear but something else. Her ears were sharp but not good at deciphering human speech yet she heard, "Red, Red, come back to me. If you can't, if you're lost in there, kill me quickly."

She hid her face and laid down at his feet while he watched her, not daring to touch her yet. This wasn't right but nothing had been right until that smell, him. In the stable, they stayed, her head in her paws, him waiting and talking to her as if she was herself not a monster.

When the dawn came, he wrapped his cloak around her as she trembled and asked, "How did you know?"

"I wondered and tried to find out about your family. It wasn't easy but you're who I want. I didn't know enough to speak to you, I was scared."

"But even so, this shouldn't have worked. Peter, how could this work?"

"Because I love you and we need to get you home and find out the truth."

"She won't tell us," Red said into his shoulder, her grandmother was secretive and protective.

"Shh, yes, she will because we need to know if we're going to figure out how to build a life together," His voice was soothing, he always knew how to make her believe in more, but could this be possible.

The forest wasn't kind and she was a monster. She wouldn't let go of him, but she could kill him. This was a chance that wouldn't last. Yet he didn't let go of her as they made their way back to Granny's, he held her, stroking her hair and kissing her. Granny stared at them as they entered and he said, "There's much we need to discuss. We won't be leaving yet but someday. For now we need to create a better way to live."

"Please, grandmother, I don't want to lose him."

Her grandmother watched them and sighed as it was clear she didn't like this, but it wasn't up to her, "Get dressed, Red and get some food. You'll be hungry and tired. This will take some time."

They talked all through the day until Red was asleep in Peter's arms and Granny looked at the two of them, together and said, "You have my blessing and all my hopes. I want her to be happy and safe."

"That's what I want as well and we can make it true."

"Hope's something to start on."

"Yes, it is and we won't stop until we've made a good life for ourselves," He kissed the top of Red's head and Granny nodded for him to take her and rest. Perhaps they could change their destiny.
